BIO

Jasmin Bambur was born in Zrenjanin, Serbia, but came to the United States when he was 12. Before he started skiing, Bambur played on the U.S. National Handball Team while he was a student at Middle Georgia College. In 2000, he sustained a spinal cord injury from a car crash, making him a paraplegic. After his injury, Bambur began skiing and, in 2010, represented Serbia at the Vancouver Paralympics, where he became the first winter Paralympian from Serbia. He became an official U.S. citizen in 2010 and was named to the U.S. Para Alpine National Team in 2012, and has competed for the United States ever since. Jasmin enjoys fishing, hunting, kayaking, boating, and camping with his family when he's not on the slopes.
