Ligety Leads Super G Starters

SCHLADMING, Austria (Feb. 6) - Ted Ligety (Park City, UT) leads a blend of veterans and rookies into the opening men's event with Wednesday's super G at the FIS Alpine Ski World Championships in Schladming. Ligety is ranked seventh in the Audi FIS World Cup super G standings. He will be joined by 2010 Olympic bronze medalist Andrew Weibrecht (Lake Placid, NY) plus World Championships rookies Tommy Biesemeyer (Keene, NY) and Ryan Cochran-Siegle (Starksboro, VT). Universal Sports and NBC will broadcast every second of competition from Schladming with super G coverage at 11 a.m. EST Wednesday.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Ted Ligety (Park City, UT) comes into the World Championship super G ranked seventh in the Audi FIS World Cup with three top 10's this season.
