ASPEN, CO (Jan­. 29, 2017) – The slopestyle ladies wrapped up X Games Aspen 2017 on Sunday; Maggie Voisin (Whitefish, MT) finished fifth and Devin Logan (West Dover, VT) was seventh. 

Voisin, who also was seventh in big air on Saturday night, had a solid showing in Slopestyle on Sunday. Her run included a leftside 900 tailgrab. It was Voisin’s fourth X Games appearance – she earned slopestyle silver at her first appearance in 2014.

VEYSONNAZ, Switzerland (Mar. 26, 2017) — Jonathan Cheever (Saugus, MA) and Mick Dierdorff (Steamboat Springs, CO) were on the podium at the final team snowboardcross World Cup of the season, with a second-place finish on Sunday.

It was an excellent way for the team to finish the season; the result marked Dierdorff’s first career World Cup podium result and Cheever’s first since taking third at Stoneham in 2012.

Gabel was introduced to snowboarding in 2000, and quickly developed a love for the sport. In June 2005, Gabel was involved in an industrial accident that crushed his left foot. Following many complications and treatments, doctors determined that amputation would be necessary for Gabel’s survival. Just three months post-op, Keith returned to his snowboard; however, it wasn’t until the 2010-2011 season (his sixth winter riding with a prosthetic) that he found competitive Para snowboarding.

LENZERHEIDE, Switzerland (March 11) – After a successful 18 years of coaching with the U.S. Alpine Ski Team, women’s speed Head Coach Chip White will step aside following the Audi FIS Alpine World Cup Finals this week. During his tenure, the women’s speed program produced an impressive 122 World Cup podiums, 13 World Cup titles, 10 World Championship medals and six Olympic medals. ARE, Sweden (March 8) - Olympic gold medalist Mikaela Shiffrin (Eagle-Vail, CO) won her fourth Audi FIS Alpine World Cup slalom of the season on Saturday to mathematically clinch a second straight World Cup title in the discipline. The stunning victory earned the 18-year-old a space in history as the youngest woman to reach eight World Cup slalom wins. She turns 19 on March 13.
