COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (July 2) – U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) coach Erik Flora (Anchorage) was recognized as the U.S. Olympic Committee’s 2013 National Coach of the Year. He is the fourth USSA coach to earn the top coaching honor since the USOC debuted the award in 1996. Flora was honored for his work with elite cross country skiers on the U.S. Cross Country Ski Team, including Kikkan Randall (Anchorage), who won the 2013 FIS World Cup and team sprint gold at World Championships. As head coach for APU Nordic, Flora is integrated into the U.S.

PARK CITY, UT (Jan. 9, 2015) - Veteran K.C. Oakley's (Piedmont, CA) started her day learning she was going to World Championships next week. It ended with her career first World Cup win, throwing down a stunning win to upset Canada's Dufur-Lapointe sisters with a huge three-point win in front of a packed house at Deer Valley Resort. Patrick Deneen (Cle Elum, WA) scored his first podium of the season finishing third behind Canada's Mikael Kingsbury.

OBERHOF, Germany (Dec. 29) - The U.S. Ski Team's Kikkan Randall (Anchorage) skied a powerful 3k freestyle prologue Saturday to take a solid win over past Tour champions Charlotte Kalla of Sweden and Justyna Kowalczyk of Poland. Starting 72nd, Randall was .4 behind Kalla at 1.7k but skied away to a 4.4 second victory in the first of seven stages over a nine day period. Norway's Petter Northug took the men's 4k prologue with Andy Newell (Shaftsbury, VT) top American man.

Lindsey Vonn gained the headlines again last weekend with two more Audi FIS World Cup titles, including her fifth straight downhill crown. While Vonn's streak matched that of the great Annemarie Moser-Proell, an equally notable story was unfolding behind her with four U.S. women in the top 10. While that set a new U.S. mark, it actually didn't come as that much of a surprise. With six U.S. women in the top 25, it's the strongest and deepest downhill ski racing powerhouse in U.S. Ski Team history – men or women!

Winning is one thing. Winning over a sustained period of time is quite another. But that’s what Kelly Clark and Hannah Kearney are doing every time they get into the starting gate right now. In China last weekend, Kearney came from behind for win number 15 in a row. It was a tough battle as a bobble in the semifinals almost knocked our out of the top four Super Final. Clark was closer to home, taking the Snowbasin Dew Tour for her 14th straight.

SOELDEN, Austria (Dec. 5) – Olympic medalists Seth Wescott (Sugarloaf, ME) and Lindsey Jacobellis (Stratton, VT), along with seven-time X Games gold medalist Nate Holland (Squaw Valley, CA), headline U.S. Snowboarding’s 2013-14 snowboardcross team named heading into the opening FIS World Cup this weekend.

PARK CITY, UT (June 1) – The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association’s new USSA TEAM Academy celebrated its first year, graduating four seniors from the high school created for national development and elite team skiers and snowboarders. All of the graduating seniors, who hold a combined 4.15 GPA, have enrolled at Westminster College to continue their education. The graduation ceremony was held Saturday, June 1 at the USSA Center of Excellence in Park City, UT.

GARMISCH-PARTENKIRCHEN, Germany (Jan. 21, 2017) – Lindsey Vonn (Vail, CO) is back on top!

In only her second race since returning from a pair of injuries that sidelined her for almost a year, Vonn won Saturday’s Audi FIS Ski World Cup downhill on the Kandahar course for the third time in her career. Saturday’s win marked her 77^th career World Cup victory, moving her closer to the all-time mark of 86 wins set by the legendary Swede Ingemar Stenmark.

PARK CITY, UT (Jan. 5, 2017) - Five men and five women have been named to the team that will represent the USA at the International Ski Federation's 2017 USANA Nordic Junior World Ski Championships Jan. 30-Feb. 5 at the Utah Olympic Park and Soldier Hollow Nordic Center. It's the first time the global junior event has been held in the USA since 1986 in Lake Placid.
