COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (July 2) – U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) coach Erik Flora (Anchorage) was recognized as the U.S. Olympic Committee’s 2013 National Coach of the Year. He is the fourth USSA coach to earn the top coaching honor since the USOC debuted the award in 1996. Flora was honored for his work with elite cross country skiers on the U.S. Cross Country Ski Team, including Kikkan Randall (Anchorage), who won the 2013 FIS World Cup and team sprint gold at World Championships. As head coach for APU Nordic, Flora is integrated into the U.S.

OBERHOF, Germany (Dec. 29) - The U.S. Ski Team's Kikkan Randall (Anchorage) skied a powerful 3k freestyle prologue Saturday to take a solid win over past Tour champions Charlotte Kalla of Sweden and Justyna Kowalczyk of Poland. Starting 72nd, Randall was .4 behind Kalla at 1.7k but skied away to a 4.4 second victory in the first of seven stages over a nine day period. Norway's Petter Northug took the men's 4k prologue with Andy Newell (Shaftsbury, VT) top American man.

PARK CITY, UT (June 1) – The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association’s new USSA TEAM Academy celebrated its first year, graduating four seniors from the high school created for national development and elite team skiers and snowboarders. All of the graduating seniors, who hold a combined 4.15 GPA, have enrolled at Westminster College to continue their education. The graduation ceremony was held Saturday, June 1 at the USSA Center of Excellence in Park City, UT.

GARMISCH-PARTENKIRCHEN, Germany (Jan. 21, 2017) – Lindsey Vonn (Vail, CO) is back on top!

In only her second race since returning from a pair of injuries that sidelined her for almost a year, Vonn won Saturday’s Audi FIS Ski World Cup downhill on the Kandahar course for the third time in her career. PARK CITY, UT (Jan. 5, 2017) - Five men and five women have been named to the team that will represent the USA at the International Ski Federation's 2017 USANA Nordic Junior World Ski Championships Jan. 30-Feb. 5 at the Utah Olympic Park and Soldier Hollow Nordic Center. It's the first time the global junior event has been held in the USA since 1986 in Lake Placid.
