KVITFJELL, Norway (March 2) - The Audi FIS Alpine World Cup tour produced a rare double win Friday as Austrian Klaus Kroell tied Beat Feuz of Switzerland for a super G win in Kvitfjell. The victory pushed Feuz passed Austrian Marcel Hirscher, who did not compete, for the overall tour lead by five points. Norwegian Aksel Lund Svindal was fifth to retain his lead in the super G standings, while Andrew Weibrecht (Lake Placid, NY) posted the top U.S. result with 28th.

GARMISCH-PARTENKIRCHEN, Germany (Jan. 28) - Swiss juggernaut Didier Cuche climbed into the Audi FIS Alpine World Cup downhill lead with victory in a a fog shortened Garmisch downhill. Bode Miller (Franconia, NH) was 35th, despite starting after racer 45. Miller, who was slated to start 16, was sanctioned with the later start for arriving late to the previous evening bib draw.

ZAGREB, Croatia (Jan. 3) - Despite competing with a nasty stomach illness, Lindsey Vonn (Vail, CO) finished ninth in the Zagreb night slalom as Austrian Marlies Schild produced her fifth straight victory this season. Vonn, who produced the second fastest final run behind Schild, continues to lead the Austrian by 101 points in the Audi FIS Alpine World Cup overall chase.

LIENZ, Austria (Dec. 28) - Lindsey Vonn (Vail, CO) battled the long and rugged Audi FIS Alpine World Cup in Lienz for fifth to stretch her World Cup overall lead to 231 with just one race remaining before the New Year. Austrian Anna Fenninger, 22, won the race for the first World Cup victory of her young career with Italian Federica Brignone in second and Tessa Worley of France third.

PARK CITY, UT (July 18, 2016) – The U.S. Ski Team has announced that Mike Day, current head men’s coach at Green Mountain Valley School (GMVS), will make a return to the U.S. Ski Team to serve as women’s head coach, working specifically with Olympic champion Mikaela Shiffrin. 

A coach in various capacities for more than 15 years, Day previously coached Ted Ligety (Park City, UT), who became a world champion and won two World Cup giant slalom titles during Day’s tenure with the men’s technical team from 2010 to 2013.

SQUAW VALLEY, CA (March 21) - Tim Jitloff (Reno, NV) brought a crowd of thousands to a roaring crescendo Friday with another masterful performance in Squaw Valley to win his second consecutive Nature Valley U.S. Alpine Championships giant slalom title. The Olympian, who grew up nearby and raced as a young athlete at the 1960 Olympic resort, captured his second victory in three days at Squaw with a 1.61 margin of victory over Brennan Rubie (Salt Lake City).

OLYMPIC VALLEY, CA (Sept.17, 2014) - The fast-paced excitement of skicross and snowboardcross will come to Squaw Valley March 4-8, 2015, with the resort hosting an Audi FIS Skicross World Cup and FIS Snowboard World Cup. This will be the first time the International Ski Federation has brought a World Cup event to Squaw Valley since the FIS Alpine World Cup in 1969. LEVI, Finland (Nov. 11) – Three-time Audi FIS Alpine World Cup giant slalom champion Ted Ligety, who was victorious in the opening World Cup race at Soelden, Austria two weeks ago, finished 13th Sunday in a foggy slalom held north of the Arctic Circle. Defending World Cup slalom champion Andre Myhrer of Sweden won my a narrow .06 margin over reigning overall champion Marcel Hirscher of Austria. Warm air pushed temperatures into the high 30's causing thick fog to loom over both runs. Universal Sports will air the race at 10 a.m. ET.
