ASPEN, CO (Nov. 29) - Mikaela Shiffrin (Eagle-Vail, CO) skied a gutsy second run to salvage a remarkable sixth place finish in the Nature Valley Aspen Winternational. A first-run mistake nearly earned Shiffrin an early exit, but she powered through to stay in contention. Despite being 2.23 seconds out, Shiffrin skied fifth fastest in the second run, winning the bottom. Austria's Eva-Maria Brem won over teammate Kathrin Zettel. Italy's Federica Brignone was third. The women race slalom on Sunday with live coverage of the second run on NBC at 3:00 p.m. EST.

ARE, Sweden (Dec. 19) - Julia Mancuso (Squaw Valley, CA) skied a brilliant bottom section to finish 14th in Wednesday's Audi FIS Alpine World Cup giant slalom held under the lights in Are. Mikaela Shiffrin (Eagle-Vail, CO) had also made the final with the 17th fastest opening run, but hooked a gate with her right shoulder and was bounced off course. German Olympic GS champion Viktoria Rebensburg halted the four-race discipline win streak of Slovenia's Tina Maze with her first victory of the season. Maze finished third behind Anna Fenninger of Austria.
SCHLADMING, Austria (March 15) – Ted Ligety (Park City, UT) hurdled to 10th from the 26th start position to post his best Audi FIS Alpine World Cup super G result of the season in spring-like Schladming. Italy's Christof Innerhofer won the day's race, but Aksel Lund Svindal of Norway claimed the discipline title with a 16th place finish. The overall World Cup title chase took an interesting twist when Austrian Marcel Hirscher finished third to edge closer to leader Beat Feuz who crashed out mid course.
CRANS MONTANA, Switzerland (Feb. 26) - Fighting through incredibly soft snow conditions, Ted Ligety (Park City, UT) was slowed to ninth place in the Audi FIS Alpine World Cup giant slalom at Crans Montana won by Italian Massimiliano Blardone. As the course deteriorated under warm temperatures, the first run leaders struggled to maintain speed in the final run.
CRANS MONTANA, Switzerland (Feb. 25) - Andrew Weibrecht (Lake Placid, NY) sliced the Crans Montana soft snow for 20th in the second Audi FIS Alpine World Cup super G as Austrian Benni Raich earned the first super G victory of his storied career.
ST. MORITZ, Switzerland (Jan. 29) - Lindsey Vonn (Vail, CO) came within .03 of a three-race sweep in St. Moritz to finish second in Sunday's super combined behind defending Audi FIS Alpine World Cup overall champion Maria Hoefl-Riesch of Germany. Despite missing the top step, Vonn boosted her overall point total to 1,250 for a commanding 387 lead over Tina Maze of Slovenia. Vonn won the opening super combined and the backed it up with a dominating downhill victory on Saturday.
KRANJSKA GORA, Slovenia (Jan. 21) - Lindsey Vonn (Vail, CO) missed the Kranjska Gora giant slalom podium by three hundredths of a second to finish fourth, yet boosted her Audi FIS Alpine World Cup overall lead to 296 over local Tina Maze. The Olympic downhill champion slipped a few gates before the finish and dropped both hands in the snow, but made a quick recovery to stay on an icy course conquered by Tessa Worley of France. Vonn now sits third in the World Cup giant slalom standings.
WENGEN, Switzerland (Jan. 14) – Bode Miller (Franconia, NH) skied a powerful run down the Lauberhorn, dropping in and out of the lead all the way down, but didn't have quite enough to upend a red hot Beat Feuz of Switzerland. Miller was fifth as Feuz took his podium in two days, grabbing the Audi FIS World Cup downhill lead from Miller, who was gunning for his third win in the classic Lauberhorn – the longest downhill on the World Cup circuit. The weekend wraps up Sunday with a slalom.
