Tessa Worely of France won to overtake the giant slalom points lead as Slovenia's Tina Maze was second to cut Vonn's still sizeable overall lead to 410 points with six weeks remaining in the season.

It was Vonn's seventh victory of the season and now leads the overall chase by 302 points over Slovenian Tina Maze, who was second. Vonn has won in every discipline this season except slalom.

As a part of the partnership SmartWool® PhD® Ski, Nordic and Snowboard socks will don the feet of U.S. Ski Team and U.S. Snowboarding athletes in alpine, freestyle, nordic and snowboarding sports programs. WENGEN, Switzerland (Jan. 16, 2015)—Ted Ligety (Park City, UT) battled the alpine combined—a downhill followed by one run of slalom—to be the top American in Wengen, finishing in fifth place. Downhiller Jared Goldberg (Holladay, UT) skied to 15th, his first top 15 on the Audi FIS Alpine World Cup this season. Carlo Janka of Switzerland won the race by 1.31 seconds and Victor Muffat-Jeandet of France was second.
