WENGEN, Switzerland (Jan. 15) - Defending Audi FIS Alpine World Cup overall champion Ivica Kostelic of Croatia moved closer current overall leader Marcel Hirscher of Austria with victory in the Wengen slalom as Hirscher was disqualified for straddling a gate. It was Kostelic's second win of the weekend after opening the 82nd Lauberhorn with victory in super combined. No American men made the second run. The men's World Cup tour now moves to fabled Kitzbuehel, Austira for the Hahnenkamm featuring super G, downhill, slalom and a traditional combined.

JANSA, Slovakia (March 5) - U.S. Ski Team National Training Group athlete Breezy Johnson (Salt Lake City; Rowmark Academy) finished 15th in the FIS Alpine Junior World Championships women's downhill to claim the top finish among athletes under 18. Johnson was just .05 behind teammate Katie Ryan (Aspen, CO; Aspen Valley Ski and Snowboard Club) who posted the top finish among all U.S. athletes with 14th. Katharine Irwin (Vail, CO; Ski and Snowboard Club Vail) also produced a solid run to finish 18th.

JASNA, Slovakia (Feb. 27) - Paula Moltzan (Lakeville, MN; Buck Hill Ski Team/Ski and Snowboard Club Vail) produced the best big race result of her young career Thursday with sixth in the FIS Alpine Junior World Ski Championships giant slalom to open women's competition in Jasna. Moltzan, who has three Audi FIS Alpine World Cup slalom starts to her credit, finished ninth in the opening run and jumped three more slots to finish .85 off the podium.

SQUAW VALLEY, CA (March 22) - Olympian David Chodounsky (Crested Butte, CO) produced a blazing final run in sun-soaked Squaw Valley to win the Nature Valley U.S. Alpine Championships slalom title. Third after the first run, Chodounsky laced the bottom section of the Red Dog race hill to bump first-run leader Tim Kelley (Starksboro, VT) to second. Will Brandenburg (Spokane, WA), who was fifth after the opening run, ended the day in third. NBC will broadcast a Nature Valley U.S. Alpine Championships special on Sunday, March 23 at noon ET.

SQUAW VALLEY, CA (March 21) - Olympic gold medalist Julia Mancuso (Squaw Valley, CA) took full advantage of home snow to win the Nature Valley U.S. Alpine Championships giant slalom for a record 16th U.S. title. The Olympic gold medalist from Squaw Valley finished .88 in front of a red-hot Mikaela Shiffrin (Eagle-Vail, CO), 18, who had just locked the Audi FIS Alpine World Cup slalom title in Switzerland.
