Finishing up a weekend of speed events with a giant slalom, Tommy Ford led the U.S. men down the dark and bumpy Kandahar track in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, finishing in 11th place.

In the same location as his first World Cup victory in 2013, Alexis Pinturault of France captured his second win of the 2019-20 season. Loic Meillard of Switzerland was second and Leif Kristian Nestvold-Haugen of Norway was third.

On Thursday’s men’s downhill in Wengen, Switzerland, Stifel U.S. Ski Team athlete Ryan Cochran-Siegle scored a sixth place finish, his best result of the season thus far. 

“I feel like that was the most solid run I’ve had on the course this week,” said Cochran-Siegle.

In the final super-G of the regular World Cup season, the Stifel U.S. Ski Team men punched three into the top 15 with a career best result by Kyle Negomir in 12th, Ryan Cochran-Siegle 11th and Sam Morse in 14th. 

“I always heard that the Americans loved this place, but seeing it in person was on another level,” said Negomir.

On Friday’s World Championships super-G in Saalbach, Austria, Stifel U.S. Ski Team veteran speed skiers Ryan Cochran-Siegle and Bryce Bennett were the top U.S. finishers in seventh and 15th place. 

“It was a really fun set,” said Cochran-Siegle. “The snow is very nice and you can do whatever you want, so feeling that environment and the pressure to build on that energy was really fun.”

On Sunday’s super-G in Kvitfjell, Norway, the final super-G of the regular World Cup season, Stifel U.S. Ski Team athletes Ryan Cochran-Siegle and Jared Goldberg ended their super-G run in 11th and 12th place respectively. It was a positive day for the men’s team overall with six men finding the top 30.

Sam DuPratt, World Cup speed skier on the Stifel U.S. Alpine Ski Team is ready to return to snow after  yet another road to recovery when he sustained a knee injury in the Bormio World Cup of last season. However, he is no stranger to a triumphant return, facing major injury setbacks in the past.
