BIO

Zanden McMullen from Anchorage, Alaska is a promising up-and-coming athlete on the World Cup circuit, who, just this season racked up career-best results weekend-after-weekend on the World Cup circuit. At the culmination of the season, Zanden was ranked third in the World for men under the age of 23 (U23 category). 

Throughout his career, Zanden has landed on the U.S. National Championship podium four times, and represented the USA at the 2023 U23 World Ski Championships, placing in the top 20 in both the 20k classic and 10k skate. 

An athlete on the Alaska Pacific University (APU) team, Zanden is a skier to watch as we look at the future of the Stifel U.S. Cross Country Ski Team, along a strong class of men. Aside from skiing, Zanden says he is "a cat person first and foremost (but love all animals)." He claims to have a serious sweet tooth with a true chocolate addiction. He never takes himself too seriously and loves a good laugh.

  • 1. Zanden's mom introduced him to skiing by awarding him candy at the top of the hill. "I quickly fell in love with the sport and being outside because who doesn't love candy at a young age?"
  • 2. He loves cats! They are underrated and are the main reason for the success of the internet!
  • 3.  I am 5'8" and have an ambitious goal to be able to dunk a basketball.
