The FIS Snowboardcross World Cup makes its return to the highly-regarded resort of Sierra Nevada March 7-8 for the fourth of five World Cup events of the season. U.S. riders are eager to take to the course in Sierra Nevada, including two-time 2019 FIS World Champion Mick Dierdorff.

David Wise won X Games gold to close out the 2023 X Games in Aspen, Colo. Wise, who has competed in over 14 X Games, is once again walking away from the event with another gold medal in his bag. HAFJELL, Norway (Feb. 16, 2016) – Keely Cashman (Squaw Valley, CA, 16, National Training Group/Squaw Valley Ski Team) grabbed 14th place Tuesday in the giant slalom at the Youth Olympic Winter Games.
The giant slalom podium featured Switzerland’s Melanie Meillard finishing first, with Germany’s Katrin Hirtl-Stanggassinger finishing second and Switzerland’s Aline Danioth rounding out the podium in third.
“Snow was bullet proof and it was an excellent race,” said women’s NTG head coach Thomas Erhard. “Great learning experience for her at a major Championship.”
PARK CITY, UT (April 20, 2015) – The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association will welcome three-time Olympian and U.S. Ski Team alum Chip Knight to its staff as its new U.S. Ski Team alpine development director. Knight, who skied on the team for 13 years, will manage the alpine development team, national training groups, regional programs and youth development programs such as SkillsQuest. He will also contribute to the USSA alpine coach education program, club development program, competition calendar development and member development.
PARK CITY, UT (May 30) – Veteran athlete and moguls coach Garth Hager has been named moguls head coach for the U.S. Freestyle Ski Team. Hager, who has served as an assistant coach for eight years, will take the reins from one of the most successful coaches in the history of the sport, Scott Rawles, who is stepping down after a 14 year coaching career with the U.S. Ski Team.

VAIL, Colorado (March 23) – The most successful female alpine ski racer in history was honored Saturday evening, March 22, when Austria’s Annemarie Moser-Proell was inducted into the International Ski Racing Hall of Fame as the 2014 Legend of Honor. The Legend of Honor festivities are annually hosted in conjunction with Vail’s Korbel American Ski Classic.
LAKE LOUISE, AB (Feb. 7) - Just a day after leading a first-ever American podium sweep, Lindsey Vonn (Vail, CO) was back on the winner's stand, finishing second in the season-opening Audi FIS Ski World Cup super G in Lake Louise. Julia Mancuso (Squaw Valley, CA) was sixth, while Lara Gut of Switzerland took the win and Tina Maze of Slovenia rounded out the podium.
WENGEN, Switzerland (Jan. 15, 2015) - Wengen’s fabled Lauberhorn downhill is in a class by itself: It's over two and a half minutes of leg-burning pain down a 2.78-mile course with speeds pushing 100 mph. Two-time downhill champion Bode Miller was back, testing his body and gauging the viability of getting into the start house for the 85th running of Lauberhorn on Saturday.
