VAL MUSTAIR, Switzerland (Dec. 30, 2016) - The U.S. Cross Country Ski Team will enter nine athletes - one of its deepest and most experienced teams ever - as the International Ski Federation’s (FIS) 2017 edition of the Tour de Ski gets underway on New Year’s Eve day in Val Mustair with a freestyle sprint.

The seven-stage tour will cover four stops in three nations before the Sunday, January 8 finale up the staggering Alpe Cermis hill climb in Val di Fiemme, Italy.

LAHTI, Finland (Feb. 21, 2016) – The final race in Lahti was greeted by tough conditions as Sadie Bjornsen (Winthrop, WA) led the U.S. team with a 15th place finish in a FIS World Cup 7.5kx7.5k skiathlon race on Sunday. Jessie Diggins (Afton, MN) followed close behind in 17th.

“I felt really good today, but didn't feel like I was able to ski to my full potential, but of course I am always satisfied with a top 15,” said Bjornsen.

PARK CITY, UT (May 31, 2015) – The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association’s TEAM Academy said farewell to its high school seniors at a graduation ceremony held at the USSA’s Center of Excellence on Saturday, May 30. The class of 2015 included 12 athletes, seven who studied in Park City and five Elite Aerial Development Program (EADP) athletes based in Lake Placid, NY. It is the largest class ever to graduate from the Academy. A graduation ceremony for athletes in Lake Placid is set for June 13.

GARMISCH-PARTENKIRCHEN, Germany (March 7, 2015) - Lindsey Vonn (Vail, CO) was seventh Saturday in the Audi FIS Ski World Cup downhill in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, retaining her tour lead but seeing the margin drop to 35 points over Anna Fenninger of Austria. Fenninger was second in a race won by Liechtenstein's Tina Weirather. The crystal globe will be decided March 18 at the World Cup Finals in Meribel, France.

PARK CITY, UT (Jan. 11, 2016) – Two ski jumpers and one nordic combined skier have been nominated by the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association to the 2016 U.S. Youth Olympic Team that will compete in Lillehammer, Norway, February 12-21. Casey Larson, 17, (Barrington, IL/Norge Ski Club) was nominated to the men’s ski jumping team, with Logan Sankey, 17, (Steamboat Springs, CO/Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club) nominated to the women’s squad. Ben Loomis, 17, (Eau Claire, WI/Flying Eagles Ski Club) was nominated to represent Team USA in nordic combined.
