LOS ANGELES, CA (July 12) – Two-time Olympic gold medalist Shaun White (Carlsbad, CA) took home his fifth straight ESPY for Best Male Action Sport athlete and three time X Games gold medalist Jamie Anderson (South Lake Tahoe, CA) earned her first ESPY as Best Female Action Sport athlete Wednesday night during the 20th ESPYs. PARK CITY, UT (Aug. 5) – Olympian Anders Johnson (Park City, UT) successfully defended his normal hill U.S. Championship title, and took his second win of the weekend at the 2013 U.S. Ski Jumping Championships at the Utah Olympic Park. Jessica Jerome (Park City, UT) won the women's normal hill title, finishing the weekend two-for-two after clinching the large hill crown yesterday. The win boosts Jerome's U.S. Championship title tally to 10, while Johnson reaches his career fifth.

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (March 14) - The second Annual Governor's State of Sport Awards will honor Utah native and ski jumper Sarah Hendrickson with the Olympian of the Year award. The awards ceremony will honor individuals and groups that have made significant contributions to sport in Utah in 2012. In celebration of Utah's Olympic Legacy, Governor Herbert and the Utah Sports Commission will present this year's Olympian of the Year award to Sarah Hendrickson to recognize her excellence and achievement in Olympic sport.
MONTAFON, Austria (Dec. 7) – Nick Baumgartner battled his way through flat light and tough competition to take third at the FIS World Cup opener in Montafon. Taking advantage of the hole shots and strong riding allowed for Baumgartner to consistently stay amongst the leaders during finals. Baumgartner had a successful 2012 season with an X Games silver medal, and two World Cup podiums.
SALT LAKE CITY (April 16) – World Champion ski jumper Sarah Hendrickson (Park City, UT) and the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association were among honorees as the State of Utah and Governor Gary Herbert hosted the second annual Utah State of Sport Awards in Salt Lake City. Hendrickson, a Utah native and 2012 World Cup champion, was recognized as 2012 Olympian of the Year. The USSA was recognized as Team Utah Partner of the Year for its efforts to bring international ski and snowboarding events to Utah. Over 750 attended the event at the Zion’s Bank Basketball Center.
Sho Kashima got his start at age four after a family move from West Texas to South Lake Tahoe. After having his career-best season in 2009 (8th in the World Cup rankings), Kashima started the 2010 season looking strong with a pair of World Cup top-10 finishes. However, a blown knee sustained while preparing for the Deer Valley World Cup in January ended his season early and put his Olympic dreams on hold. Another knee injury in 2012 put him back on the rehab road, but that didn't stop him from a late-season comeback in 2013.
PARK CITY, UT (Aug. 1) – U.S. Ski Team ski jumping and nordic combined athletes will be vying for the title of U.S. Champion this weekend at the U.S. Ski Jumping Championships at the Utah Olympic Park (UOP) in Park City Sunday, Aug. 3. The event is part of the UOP’s 16th annual Springer Tournee. Defending champion Nick Fairall is back to compete along with 2012 Champion Jessica Jerome (Park City, UT), who is looking to earn her 11th U.S. Champion title. Defending Champion Sarah Hendrickson (Park City, UT) and Lindsey Van (Park City, UT) will not be competing this year.
RASNOV, Romania (March 2) – Jessica Jerome (Park City, UT) landed the best World Cup result of her career Sunday with second at the women’s normal hill competition in Rasnov, Romania. It was Jerome’s second World Cup podium after a third-place in Hinterzarten in 2012. She finished just behind Sara Takanashi of Japan in the second day of competition at the new Rasnov venue. The women head to Oslo Sat. March 8 for a World Cup on the large hill at Holmenkollen.

MOUNT SNOW, VT (Mar. 14)—Under sunny skies with warm temperatures, U.S. Revolution Tour rookie Kelly Berger (Mammoth Lakes, CA) took her first U.S. Revolution Tour victory of 2011-2012 at Mount Snow, VT. Mount Bachelor Sports Education Foundation's Kent Callister (Bend, OR) took second at Mount Snow as well as the overall men's halfpipe title. Callister swept the halfpipe and slopestyle events at the Ostego Mountain, MI stop earlier this year. Haille Soderholm (Prior Lake, MN) was the overall winner for women's halfpipe.
