ASPEN, CO (Jan. 25, 2015)—On the last day of X Games 2015, the men and women snowboarders took to the slopestyle course for the finals. Warm temperatures, blue skies and perfect conditions were on tap for the competitors. In the end, Olympic champion Jamie Anderson (S. Lake Tahoe, CA) grabbed a silver, while Canada’s Mark McMorris and Silje Norendal of Norway won gold in the men’s and women’s event.

Lake Tahoe, CA) stomped her first run through Buttermilk’s halfpipe to win another gold medal. Brita Sigourney (Carmel, CA) took third.
BRECKENRIDGE, CO (Dec. 10) – Ski and Snowboard athletes from all around the world will descend upon Breckenridge, CO Dec. 11-14 to compete in the Dew Tour superpipe and slopestyle competitions. Confirmed is a long list of U.S. athletes, seven of whom had podium finishes last week at the U.S. Sprint Grand Prix. Breckenridge has hosted the tour seven times, making this a familiar venue for many U.S. Freeskiing and U.S. Snowboarding athletes.
PARK CITY, UT (Jan. 6, 2016) - Six young Americans have been nominated to the freeskiing team slated to compete in the 2016 Winter Youth Olympic Games in Lillehammer, Norway February 12-21. The International Olympic Committee’s Youth Olympic Games offers a competitive venue for young athletes to not only compete, but also participate in a Learn & Share program designed to inspire and empower youth. The 2016 U.S. Youth Olympic Team will be formally named by the United States Olympic Committee in late January.
LEVI, Finland (Nov. 10) – Seventeen-year-old Mikaela Shiffrin converted a trip to the Arctic Circle into the second Audi FIS Alpine World Cup slalom podium of her career after finishing third in Levi. While she doesn't yet have a driver's license or a high school diploma – she graduates from Burke Mountain Academy next spring – the podium came in only the 12th World Cup slalom start of her young career. Olympic slalom champion Maria Hoefl-Riesch of Germany won with Finn local Tanja Poutianen in second as wind and challenging light drifted in and out of both runs.

WINTER PARK, CO (March 29) - Two-time Olympian Jimmy Cochran (Keene, NH) said goodbye to a successful nine-year career with the U.S. Ski Team following the Nature Valley U.S. Alpine Championships slalom at sunny Winter Park. OSLO, Norway (March 17) - Sarah Hendrickson (Park City, UT) flew 133.5 meters to her fourth World Cup win at the women's large hill debut and season finale at the legendary Holmenkollen. Hendrickson jumped 133.5 and 129.0 meters and, with her more polished telemark style on landing, won over Japanese rival Sara Takanashi’s distance. Hendrickson ended up second in the World Cup overall standings behind Takanashi (1,297-1,047), while Lindsey Van (Park City, UT) placed eighth and Jessica Jerome (Park City, UT) ninth.
