PARK CITY, UT (May 20) – U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) Chairman Dexter Paine named seven new members to the USSA Board of Directors at the board’s annual meeting on Sunday during USSA Congress 2014. Joining the board are Tricia Byrnes (Aspen, CO), Emily Cook (Belmont, MA), Bryan Fletcher (Steamboat Springs, CO), Lisa Kosglow (Hood River, OR), Darryl Landstrom (Minneapolis), Eric Resnick (Vail, CO) and Cami Thompson-Graves (East Thetford, VT). Each individual brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in sport to the board.

PARK CITY, UT (Nov. 27) – The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) is taking advantage of the Sochi Olympic season to roll out a host of new merchandising programs. In addition to its longstanding partnership with Huge Brands USA, the USSA is launching three new programs designed to broaden its market reach and diversify the product offerings for fans. Among the new licensees are Outerstuff, Ltd. featuring a co-branded partnership with the U.S.

PARK CITY, UT (Sep. 10) – For most teenagers, August and September are filled with a mix of anticipation and anxiety as another school year begins. For the students of the USSA TEAM Academy, though, the thought of starting a new school year was a relief.

“Last year, I was unbelievably nervous and didn’t know what to expect,” sophomore and alpine athlete Storm Klomhaus said, “But this year, I knew exactly what to expect and it was fun to see everyone and catch up.”

PARK CITY, Utah (Sep. 16) – Nutrition is at the forefront of a new partnership between the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association and Blue Diamond® Growers, the world’s largest almond processing and marketing company. Blue Diamond has been named the official snack nut of the U.S. Ski Team, U.S. Snowboarding and U.S. Freeskiing. The USSA will integrate Blue Diamond Almonds into its dietary baseline of nutritional meals for athletes both at the USSA Center of Excellence training center and on the road at training camps, competitions and the U.S. Ski Team’s mobile kitchen in Europe.

DENVER (Jan. 26) – High Sierra Sport Company, a manufacturer of innovative bags and adventure travel luggage, was honored by the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) and SnowSports Industries America (SIA) with the Doc DesRoches Award. The award is presented annually by SIA and the USSA to recognize a national team supplier that has done an outstanding job in marketing the team's brands and athletes.

LIENZ, Austria (Dec. 30) – Four-time alpine skiing Olympian Sarah Schleper (Vail, CO) started the final Audi FIS Alpine World Cup of her career Thursday. After 15 seasons including five World Championships and 186 World Cup starts, the 32-year-old known for her wildly curly blond hair called the Dec. 29 Lienz slalom her final World Cup roar.
