SOELDEN, Austria (Oct. 23) – Ted Ligety (Park City, UT), who has won the Audi FIS Alpine World Cup opening race the last two seasons, highlights a group of nine U.S. athletes expected to start the 20th running of the Soelden giant slalom Oct. 26-27. Joining Ligety, who won by a staggering 2.75 second margin in 2012, are Olympic gold medalists Bode Miller (Franconia, NH), Julia Mancuso (Squaw Valley, CA) and slalom World Champion Mikeala Shiffrin (Eagle-Vail, CO). It will be the first World Cup start for Miller since February of 2012.

Kelly Clark is a halfpipe snowboarding legend: her Olympic record—gold in 2002 and bronze in 2010—alone stakes her place in her sport. In 2011, however, the Vermont native broke her own record, landing the first-ever 1080 in women's competition at Winter X Games 15. PARK CITY, UT (March 19) – The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) announced today that M. Alex Natt, Esq. has been named executive vice president and general counsel. Natt has provided counsel to the USSA since 1997 and served as USSA in-house counsel from 2001 to 2008. Natt will be responsible for all USSA legal matters while also implementing the governance findings of the McKinsey Study, commissioned by the USSA in 2012-13 to evaluate the way support is delivered to athletes and parents through USSA clubs and development programs nationwide.

Finals for the Visa U.S. Freeskiing Grand Prix skicross are set for Saturday, Feb. 11 with the Sprint U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix SBX main event on Feb. 12.
