PARK CITY, UT (March 9) – Youth Olympic Games halfpipe gold medalist Ben Ferguson (Bend, OR), silver medalist Arielle Gold (Steamboat Springs, CO) and Sprint U.S. Grand Prix slopestyle silver medalist Indigo Monk (Manhattan Beach, CA), headline a group of 25 athletes named to the 2012 FIS Snowboard Junior World Championships Team for U.S. Snowboarding. The Junior Worlds take place March 24–31 in Sierra Nevada, Spain.

SOELDEN, Austria (Oct. 23) – Ted Ligety (Park City, UT), who has won the Audi FIS Alpine World Cup opening race the last two seasons, highlights a group of nine U.S. athletes expected to start the 20th running of the Soelden giant slalom Oct. 26-27. Joining Ligety, who won by a staggering 2.75 second margin in 2012, are Olympic gold medalists Bode Miller (Franconia, NH), Julia Mancuso (Squaw Valley, CA) and slalom World Champion Mikeala Shiffrin (Eagle-Vail, CO). It will be the first World Cup start for Miller since February of 2012.

Jacqueline “Jackie” Hernandez grew up snowboarding on a small hill in New York called Hunter Mountain and moved to Stratton Mountain School with her family where she attended high school. Jackie’s success in 2012, when she won the snowboardcross World Cup in Valmalenco, Italy, got her a spot on the U.S. Snowboarding team for snowboardcross.
Like brother Bryan, Taylor Fletcher keeps improving every year. After a strong 2011 season, Taylor stepped it up again in 2012 with six Continental Cup podiums in seven races, multiple points-scoring World Cups and a career best 14th on the 2013 World Championships course in Italy. Already known as one of the strongest cross country skiers on the Team, Taylor continued to improve his jumping in 2012. His pathway to the Team came after two seasons of solid finishes at the U.S.
Kelly Clark is a halfpipe snowboarding legend: her Olympic record—gold in 2002 and bronze in 2010—alone stakes her place in her sport. In 2011, however, the Vermont native broke her own record, landing the first-ever 1080 in women's competition at Winter X Games 15. In 2012, Clark won 16 straight events in a row including Aspen and Euro X Games, TTR World Snowboarding Championships title, the Dew Tour and Dew Cup.

PARK CITY, UT (March 19) – The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) announced today that M. Alex Natt, Esq. has been named executive vice president and general counsel. Natt has provided counsel to the USSA since 1997 and served as USSA in-house counsel from 2001 to 2008. Natt will be responsible for all USSA legal matters while also implementing the governance findings of the McKinsey Study, commissioned by the USSA in 2012-13 to evaluate the way support is delivered to athletes and parents through USSA clubs and development programs nationwide.
LAUSANNE, Switzerland (Sept. 30) – With 500 days to go to the second Winter Youth Olympic Games in Lillehammer, Norway, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced that Olympic champion Lindsey Vonn will reprise her role as Ambassador for the Games, which will take place in February 2016.
PARK CITY, UT (Feb. 7) – The 2012 Sprint U.S. Grand Prix is coming to the Canyons Resort Feb. 9-12 featuring six-time X Games snowboardcross gold medalist Nate Holland (Squaw Valley, CA), 2011 SBX podium finisher Jonathan Cheever (Saugus, MA) and 2011 X Games skicross champion John Teller (Mammoth Lakes, CA). Finals for the Visa U.S. Freeskiing Grand Prix skicross are set for Saturday, Feb. 11 with the Sprint U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix SBX main event on Feb. 12.
