KUUSAMO, Finland (Nov. 29) - The U.S. Ski Team is poised and ready for the opening of the FIS Cross Country and Nordic Combined World Cup tours this weekend in Kuusamo. Defending World Cup sprint champion Kikkan Randall (Anchorage) leads a large contingent of 13 U.S. athletes in the three-day mini tour, the Ruka Triple, that begins Friday. Olympic champion Billy Demong (Vermontville, NY) leads a strong U.S. Nordic Combined Ski Team in its opening events Saturday and Sunday.

SWITZERLAND (Nov. 14) - FIS has released the snowboardcross and skicross course designs for the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia. The course is located in the Extreme Park at Rosa Khutor ski area. This custom-designed course will provide one of the most dramatic settings for two of the youngest and most exciting FIS Olympic events. The 1250 meter-long course, which was designed over the last four years, will consist of a series of eight turn sections, punctuated by a series of jumps and roller sections.

HAFJELL, Norway (March 9, 2015) – Nearly perfect snow conditions on the first run led Minnesota native Paula Moltzan (Lakeville, MN) to a gold medal in slalom Monday at the 2015 FIS Alpine Junior World Championships on the 1994 Olympic venue of Hafjell, just outside Lillehammer. Moltzan’s win is the first ever win for a U.S. woman in Junior Worlds slalom. Teammate AJ Ginnis (Waitsfield, VT) also snagged a medal, finishing third in the men’s slalom.

MEGEVE, France (Mar. 18) – Olympic champion Hannah Kearney (Norwich, VT) capped an historic season Sunday, receiving crystal globes for FIS Freestyle World Cup overall and moguls titles. Kearney hoisted the heavy Joska crystal globes high in a ceremony following the World Cup Finals competition Sunday in Megeve. Kearney, who led the team with 11 wins this season, helped the U.S. Freestyle Ski Team collect the coveted Nations Cup for moguls.
ROCCARASO, Italy (March 9) - Ryan Cochran-Siegle (Starksboro, VT) added one more gold to the "Skiing Cochran's" shelf with victory in the men's combined to close the 2012 FIS Alpine Junior World Ski Championships. The 19-year-old Vermonter, who won the downhill to open the week, finished 28th in giant slalom and 10th in slalom Friday to secure the title with the most points across the three disciplines.
