PARK CITY, Utah (Nov. 13) – With their Olympic debut just 15 months away, three of the world’s top women’s ski jumpers have been named to the 2012-13 U.S. Ski Jumping Team. Sarah Hendrickson (Park City, UT), who won nine of 13 FIS World Cups last season, leads the squad along with 2009 World Champion Lindsey Van and Jessica Jerome (both Park City, UT). The women will open the World Cup Nov. 23-25 on the Olympic jumps in Lillehammer, Norway with the season highlight coming in February with FIS Nordic Ski World Championships in Val di Fiemme, Italy.

PARK CITY, UT (Aug. 4) – Jessica Jerome (Park City, UT) secured her ninth U.S. Championship crown as she led the U.S. women to defend her large hill title. Jerome landed 119.5 meters in her first jump, followed by 117.5 meters in the second round to take the title. Defending large hill champ Peter Frenette (Saranac Lake, NY) tied the competition with teammate Anders Johnson (Park City, UT) for a title-share, the first tie in nordic U.S. Championship history.

PARK CITY, UT (April 30) – The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) has named George ‘Jory’ Macomber Head of School for the USSA TEAM Academy and Vice President, Athlete Career and Education. Macomber joins the USSA with extensive experience at Burke Mountain Academy and a 25-year career at New Hampshire’s Holderness School.
BROOMFIELD, CO (April 24) – John Garnsey, who played an instrumental role in ski racing at Vail/Beaver Creek and was the 2012 recipient of the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association’s Julius Blegen Award for his service to the sport, will be retiring. Vail Resorts, Inc. announced that Garnsey, president of the company’s global mountain development, has decided to retire following the 2015 Vail/Beaver Creek World Alpine Ski Championships, which he helped to bring back to the Vail Valley for a third time.
WHISTLER, BC (April 15) – With a near-flawless first run, Gus Kenworthy (Telluride, CO) won the AFP World Championship slopestyle event at Whistler Blackcomb Monday after taking second place in the big air comp on Sunday. The results earned him the AFP Overall World title for the third year in a row. Nick Goepper (Lawrenceburg, IN) took the men’s AFP Slopestyle World title after finishing second in Monday’s competition. In the women’s slopestyle, 14-year-old Maggie Voisin (Whitefish, MT) took the win, beating a field of seasoned competitors.
PARK CITY, UT (March 28) – Chip White, Head Coach of the Best in the World women's alpine speed team, has been selected by the U.S. Olympic Committee as finalist for National Coach of Year – the organizations most prestigious coaching honor. During the 2013 Audi FIS Alpine World Cup season White led all six of his athletes to the World Cup podium, four of them for the first time in their career.

CORONET PEAK, New Zealand (Aug. 7) - Olympic and World Champion Ted Ligety (Park City, UT), five-time Olympic gold medalist Bode Miller (Franconia, NH) and the men's technical team have now logged about a week on snow in New Zealand to open the first part of the on-snow prep period. It is the first time MIller has run gates since late in the 2012 season. He missed all of 2013 while recovering from a knee injury. With early sessions at Round Hill, the camp has now shifted to Coronet Peak with daily sessions of both giant slalom and slalom.
Some of the most successful up-and-coming freestyle athletes from across the country came together this past week for the Young Guns Camp at the Utah Olympic Park. The camp was a culmination of water ramping, trampoline training, strength and conditioning and nutrition classes.
Some of the top freestyle athletes included Thomas Rowley who was Junior Worlds Champion in Dual Moguls. Kaitlyn Harrell, who earned a silver and bronze medal at Junior Worlds and Anna Park, 2012 Junior Worlds Silver Medalist.
