Alpine officials ensure that U.S. Ski & Snowboard competitions run efficiently and fairly by the rules. They are responsible for the safe conduct of the event and the accurate timing, judging, and scoring. They also play a key role in ensuring that the spirit of the sport and competition is maintained.
In the end, officials are responsible for providing the best possible experience for U.S. Ski & Snowboard athletes.

Competitive events are the core of U.S. Ski & Snowboard programs with a network of over 4,000 events, all managed by U.S. Ski & Snowboard Officials. Officials are able to achieve various levels of certification through educational programs offered by U.S. Ski & Snowboard.
Season 2026 Alpine Officials Education Working Group
Welcome to the 2026 Racing Season. We look forward to the upcoming season and all that it has to offer for our officials, coaches and athletes. An Olympic year always brings energy and excitement to the sport. As we start to look towards the games this season, we also start to think about the games returning to the U.S. in 2034. Many of our venues and officials are starting the preparation process too!
Land Rover U.S. Alpine Ski Team athletes will take on the rescheduled 2020 U.S. Alpine Championships at Official Training site Copper Mountain, Colo. starting on Monday, Nov. 16 and running through Sunday, Nov. 22. The schedule is tentative and subject to change.
OLYMPIC VALLEY, Calif. (Dec. 20, 2017) – U.S. Ski & Snowboard today announced a five year agreement with Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows, designating the resort as an Official Training Site of the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Team. Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows joins Mammoth Mountain in California, Deer Valley in Utah, Copper Mountain in Colorado and Timberline Lodge in Oregon as one of only five official training sites across the country. PARK CITY, UT (Nov. 8, 2023) - U.S. Ski & Snowboard and Swix, the renowned Norwegian manufacturing company of winter sports equipment, officially announced a significant partnership that will extend through October 2025. The collaboration designates Swix as the Official Competition Wax Sponsor and the Official Tool Supplier of U.S. Ski & Snowboard for two more years, effective immediately.
