EL COLORADO, Chile (July 26) - The Best in the World women's alpine speed team, featuring Stacey Cook (Mammoth Mountain, CA), Leanne Smith (N. Conway, NH) and Laurenne Ross (Bend, OR),  started its on-snow Road to Sochi with a two-week camp in El Colorado. The training block is the first of two in Chile for coach Chip White's speed group, which placed all six athletes on the Audi FIS Alpine World Cup podium and topped the nations standings for downhill by a massive 457 point margine.

LENZERHEIDE, Switzerland (March 14) – Super G World Champion Ted Ligety (Park City, UT) closed the best speed season of his career with seventh in the men’s Audi FIS Alpine World Cup super G standings after the final race was canceled due to high winds. Ligety banked three SG top 10 finishes, including two near podium strikes with fourth. Norwegian Aksel Lund Svindal officially hoisted the globe he locked two weeks ago in Kvitfjell.

CORTINA D'AMPEZZO, Italy (Jan. 19) - A heavy snowstorm continued to blanket the 1956 Olympic Village Sunday canceling an Audi FIS Alpine World Cup women's downhill for the second straight day. The storm, which began Friday morning, nixed the final downhill training day and continued through the night forcing the jury to bump Saturday's race to Sunday and eventually cancel the entire race program.  The races will be made up on Jan. 23-24 with super G followed by downhill. Racing then continues Jan.
