MOSCOW, Russia (Jan. 29) - Mikaela Shiffrin (Eagle-Vail, CO) boosted her Audi FIS Alpine World Cup slalom lead to 33 points over top challenger Tina Maze of Slovenia with third in the Moscow City Event. World Cup overall and slalom leader Marcel Hirscher of Austria captured the men's victory while German Lena Duerr captured her first World Cup with the women's win. It was the final competition before the FIS Alpine Ski World Championships open on Feb. 4 in Schladming, Austria.

Races got underway on the famed Lauberhorn downhill track in Wengen, Switzerland, with an alpine combined—one run of downhill followed by one run of slalom. Bryce Bennett led three of his Land Rover U.S. Alpine Ski Team teammates into the points in 14th place with Ryan Cochran-Siegle finishing 19th and Jared Goldberg 24th.

Tommy Ford grew up skiing out of Mt. Bachelor in Oregon. He has been a strong force on the alpine scene since the beginning. Ford locked four gold medals at the 2006 U.S. Junior Championships. Ford officially joined the team in 2009 and went on to score World Cup points in his rookie season and then grab a spot on the 2010 Olympic team for giant slalom. Ford is a three-time Olympian, after he had to sit out the 2014 Olympics due to a big injury he suffered at the end of the 2013 season. He recovered well and bounced back for the upcoming seasons.

Elisabeth Bocock began skiing at Snowbird where she cultivated a love for the sport free skiing the mountains with her coaches. For Bocock, Development team coach Foreste Peterson is the most influential person in her career. Bocock also has a sister on the C team, Mary, another person who has influenced her most in the sport.  One of Bocock’s best memories include winning the team event at Whistler Cup and qualifying for the Stifel U.S. Alpine Ski Team.  In the 2022-23 season, Bocock landed on the NorAm Cup podium for giant slalom multiple times.

SOELDEN, Austria (Oct. 26) - Slalom World Champion Mikaela Shiffrin (Eagle-Vail, CO) skied into sixth place in the Soelden giant slalom to kick off the 2014 Audi FIS Alpine World Cup Season. Shiffrin led the U.S. women in the season opener and snagged her career-best World Cup giant slalom result. Switzerland’s Lara Gut sealed her first World Cup GS victory despite a huge mistake on the steeps. Tomorrow Ted Ligety (Park City, UT) will be gunning for his third-straight win in Soelden while Bode Miller (Franconia, NH) returns to the snow for the first time since February 2012.

ARE, Sweden (Dec. 20) - Teenager Mikaela Shiffrin (Eagle-Vail, CO) scored an historic first victory in an Audi FIS Alpine World Cup, taking a slalom win under the lights in Are. The 17-year-old Shiffrin came back from a .15 deficit to ski a literally flawless second run and post a .29 second win over Sweden's Frida Hansdotter. The win boosted her into the Audi FIS Alpine World Cup slalom lead going into the holiday break. Shiffrin will be back in action Dec. 28-29 in Semmering, Austria, outside Vienna.
