SOELDEN, Austria (Oct. 26) - Defending Audi FIS Alpine World Cup giant slalom champion Ted Ligety (Park City, UT) saw a growing lead evaporate with a mistake at the start of the challenging flats on the bottom of the course in Soelden to finish tenth. Ligety was locked in a battle with rival Marcel Hirscher of Austria, who took a .19 second lead over Ligety in the first run and went on to win by 1.58 seconds over Germany's Fritz Dopfer.

LENZERHEIDE, Switzerland (March 15) - Olympic champion Mikaela Shiffrin (Eagle-Vail, CO) put a wrap on a spectacular slalom season, taking a dominant 1.44 second win in the season finale at Lenzerheide to hoist her second straight Audi FIS Alpine World Cup crystal globe. LENZERHEIDE, Switzerland (March 13) – Bode Miller (Franconia, NH) rallied to an impressive third in the Audi FIS Alpine World Cup super G final Thursday, closing the men’s speed events for the 2014 season. Crystal clear skies and hard snow enabled the athletes to lay down a final statement on the season, with Ted Ligety (Park City, UT) gunning into fifth and Travis Ganong (Squaw Valley, CA) ninth behind winner Alexis Pinturault of France. COPPER MOUNTAIN, CO (Dec. 7) - Jared Goldberg and Jacqueline Wiles conqured the U.S. Ski Team Speed Center at Copper Mountain Friday to capture U.S. Championship downhill titles. Traditionally held in February, the premier speed titles were shifted to December in order to take advantage of the world class facility at Copper, which is operated by the U.S. Ski Team until Dec. 15. Goldberg proved to be the pace setter for the week after winning a pair of NorAm downhill races leading up to the championship event.

LAKE LOUISE, AB (Dec. 2) - In a day full of superlatives, Lindsey Vonn took an Audi FIS Alpine World Cup record seventh straight win in Lake Louise with U.S. Ski Team teammate Julia Mancuso second to complete a one-two U.S. women's sweep of the weekend. Vonn came down 21st in a snowy, foggy super G to knock Mancuso out of the lead. Leanne Smith was the early leader and finished eighth. Five U.S. women cracked the top 30. Vonn's 56th career win put her alone in second on the all time victory list behind Austrian Annemarie Moser-Proell's 62.

ZAGREB, Croatia (Jan. 6) - Dartmouth Ski Team alum David Chodounsky (Crested Butte, CO) sliced through fog and rain to lead the U.S. Ski Team with 18th in a heavily rutted Zagreb slalom. First run leader Jens Byggmark of Sweden was dominated by the deteriorating course and nearly went out opening the door for Austrian Marcel Hirscher to become king of the Snow Queen Trophy with victory.

FLACHAU, Austria (Jan. 14) - Reigning Flachau Night Slalom champion Mikaela Shiffrin (Eagle-Vail, CO) powered to a .90 second first run lead then cruised to a strong victory Tuesday in the resort south of Salzburg. Shiffrin took the title with a .83 second margin over a hard-charging Frida Hansdotter of Sweden in front of 20,000 screaming Austrian fans as wet snow fell throughout the final run. Universal Sports Network will replay the thrilling race at 8 p.m ET. The women's tour now heads to Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy for a weekend of speed racing.
