VAL D’ISERE, France (Dec. 14) – For the first time since 2009, Ted Ligety (Park City, UT) missed an Audi FIS Alpine World Cup giant slalom final. The two-time giant slalom world champion and four-time World Cup title winner was the first racer out of the gate, but slid out on his left hip on the lower portion of the steep and icy Face de Belvarde. Ligety won the opening two giant slalom races of the season, including a 1-2 finish with Bode Miller (Franconia, NH) last weekend in the Audi Birds of Prey giant slalom in Beaver Creek, and hadn’t missed a giant slalom podium since March of 2012.

BEAVER CREEK, CO (Dec. 8) - Olympian Nolan Kasper (Warren, VT) fought through a nasty virus that hospitalized him less than 36 hours ago to finish fourth in the Audi Birds of Prey slalom. It was also Kasper's first complete race since undergoing hip surgery in September and returning to snow in nearby Vail on Nov. 1. Reigning Audi FIS World Cup overall champion Ivica Kostelic of Croatia captured the victory, a slight .14 in front of Italian Cristian Deville. Ted Ligety (Park City, UT) was 13th and Bode Miller (Franconia, NH) 27th.

OLYMPIC VALLEY, CA (March 24, 2016) – The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) has selected Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows as the proposed site of an Audi FIS Ski World Cup in 2017. U.S. Ski Team officials are supporting the return of World Cup ski racing to the Olympic venue of Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows for the first time since 1969. The USSA is submitting Squaw Valley as a candidate for a March, 2017 World Cup that would bring Olympic champions Julia Mancuso, Lindsey Vonn and Mikaela Shiffrin to Squaw Valley for a giant slalom and slalom.

Teammate Nita Englund (Florence, WI) was 10th. Austria’s Daniela Iraschko-Stolz took the win. The Championships open Wednesday with the women’s jump on Friday.
Hendrickson soared 89.0 and 88.0 meters Sunday, finishing third on the first round and having the second highest score on her second jump.

KVITFJELL, Norway (March 3) - The men's Audi FIS Alpine World Cup downhill title was pushed to the wire Saturday as Austrian Klaus Kroell snagged the discpline lead from Swiss Didier Cuche with a victory on the 1994 Olympic track. With just one downhill remaining on March 14 at World Cup Finals in Schladming, Austria, Kroell carries a 48 point lead over Cuche, who finished 10th on the day. Another Swiss, Beat Feuz, was fourth to bump his overall lead to 55 points ahead of Marcel Hircher of Austria, who did not compete. Travis Ganong (Squaw Valley, CA) was the top U.S. finisher in 30th.
