BEIDA LAKE, CHINA (Feb.12) – Olympic champion Hannah Kearney (Norwich, VT) won her 15th consecutive FIS Freestyle World Cup Sunday in Beida Lake, China to eclipse alpine legend Ingemar Stenmark as the record holder for the longest FIS World Cup win streak in all disciplines. Mikael Kingsbury of Canada was the men’s champion.

BORMIO, Italy (Dec. 29) - Travis Ganong (Squaw Valley, CA) closed the 2013 calendar with another positive stride toward his first Olympic Winter Games with a tie for 10th in a rugged Bormio downhill to lead the U.S. Ski Team. Starting second, Ganong powered though snow at the top of the notroious Stelvio and then through rattling bumps in the middle section to post his best Audi FIS Alpine World Cup finish of the season. Norwegian Aksel Lund Svindal, who skied in relatively clear conditions, skied a flawless line to win the race for the 25th World Cup victory of his career.
WENGEN, Switzerland (Jan. 17) - Ted Ligety (Park City, UT) captured the 20th Audi FIS Alpine World Cup victory of his career Friday with a stunning super combined victory in Wengen. Ligety is the 2006 Olympic gold medalist in combined and the reigning World Champion in super combined, but until today had not won a World Cup race in any dicipline other than giant slalom. To make the historic victory even more memorable, the race was run in a reverse format with the slalom portion being staged before the downhill.
In a recent interview with Barry Svrluga and the Washington Post, two-time Olympic champion and six-time world champion Mikaela Shiffrin discussed the Olympics and the weight and pressure of it all—which she has described as an "Olympic Demogorgon"—the loss of her father and the associated grief, and the joy she has found once again on the mountain.

VAL GARDENA, Italy (Dec. 16) - Olympic champion and two-time Audi FIS Alpine World Cup overall winner Bode Miller (Franconia, NH) battled a shortened Val Gardena super G to finish second behind Swiss young gun Beat Feuz. It was Miller's third super G podium at the Italian resort after winning the 2006 race and taking second in 2007. Miller, who won the Audi Birds of Prey downhill two weeks ago, now sits fourth in the overall World Cup standings behind Ted Ligety (Park City, UT), who did not race.
LAKE LOUISE, AB (Dec. 3) - Lindsey Vonn (Vail, CO) rocketed to her second Audi FIS Alpine World Cup downhill win in as many days Saturday to notch the 44th victory of her career and 10th in Lake Louise. Vonn has now stood on the top of the podium in three of the four World Cup races she's started this season including a giant slalom victory on the opening World Cup event in Soelden, Austria.
On day two of Stifel America’s Downhill in Aspen, Colorado, the Stifel U.S. Alpine Ski Team had a tremendous and emotional day. To start the exciting race off, Bryce Bennett skied into his best result of the season with a 10th place finish.
“I’ve been skiing really hard all winter long,” said Bennett. “I've barely taken any time off and today was the first time this season I could really race and it was a good feeling.”
