SQUAW VALLEY, CA (March 22) - Laurenne Ross (Bend, OR) captured the first U.S. title of her career with a mere .01 second super G victory over Stacey Cook (Mammoth Mountain, CA) Friday at the Nature Valley U.S. Alpine Championships at Squaw Valley. The incredibly tight race saw favorite and defending champion Julia Mancuso (Squaw Valley, CA) land third, .08 seconds behind Ross.
SAALBACH, Austria (Feb. 4, 2025) – For the second time, U.S. Ski & Snowboard, in partnership with Protect Our Winters (POW) and Kappa, is releasing a race suit designed to bring attention to climate change. The Stifel U.S. Alpine Ski Team will wear the suit during the 2025 FIS Alpine Ski World Championships in Saalbach, Austria Feb. 4-16, 2025 and the Stifel U.S.
The Stifel U.S. Ski Team’s alpine program had pivotal moments in the 2024-25 season that included historic highs, new venues and emerging stars. In total, the alpine team brought home 13 podiums and five wins across the men’s and women’s World Cup teams, including four World Championships medals.
ROSA KHUTOR, Russia (Feb. 16) - In an historic and seemingly improbable finish, Andrew Weibrecht (Lake Placid, NY) took silver and Bode Miller (Franconia, NH) tied for bronze in the men's Olympic super G at Rosa Khutor Sunday. After taking the lead out of the number 13 start, Miller watched in wonderment as teammate Weibrecht put down a breathtaking run out of the 29th start position to claim silver behind Norway’s Kjetil Jansrud. U.S. Ski & Snowboard Wraps Successful 2024-25 Season
It was another stunning day in St. Anton, Austria, where Isabella “Bella” Wright led the way for the Land Rover U.S. Alpine Ski Team, grabbing a personal best 24th place and her first super-G points—just one day after scoring her career-first FIS Ski World Cup points. Young (20-year-old) up-and-comer AJ Hurt landed in 26th in her debut World Cup super-G start.
