HAFJELL, Norway (Feb. 19, 2016) – River Radamus' (Edwards, CO, U.S. Ski Team/Ski & Snowboard Club Vail) gold medal streak came to an end as he failed to finish the first run in Friday's slalom at the Winter Youth Olympic Games.
River Radamus and Elisabeth Bocock took home the titles of national champions at the Toyota U.S. Alpine Championships presented by Stifel super-G at Idaho’s Sun Valley Resort.
The Stifel U.S. Alpine Ski Team swept both super-G podiums. Behind Bocock in the women’s race, Allison Mollin was second and Tatum Grosdidier third. This was Bocock's first national title. On the men’s side, Kyle Negomir finished second and Isaiah Nelson was third. Radamus is a three-time national champion, having won the super-G in 2021 and giant slalom in 2020.
In the first men's event at the 2023 World Alpine Ski Championships, Stifel U.S. Alpine Ski Team athlete River Radamus set the pace for the men’s alpine combined in fourth place.

“I’m trying to do my part to ensure the sport becomes less expensive as these athletes climb the ladder,” said Radamus. “Not more.”
On Friday’s men’s giant slalom in Copper, Colorado hometown boy River Radamus landed in the top 15 in front of a buzzing U.S. crowd at the Stifel Copper Cup presented by United Airlines.
“ I love racing here. I love the home atmosphere, and I knew that if I gave anything less than everything I had, I'd be regretting and finish,” said Radamus.
On Saturday’s final giant slalom of the regular World Cup season Stifel U.S. Ski Team athlete River Radamus tied his season best in seventh place.
“They have done a phenomenal job with the hill prep here, one of the best we've seen all year. It's really fun to ski and the crowd is awesome,” said Radamus.
In the Stifel Birds of Prey super-G opener, hometown hero River Radamus snagged eighth place - on par with his personal best in the discipline. Teammate Ryan Cochran-Siegle was close behind in 11th after he handled another very strong recovery at the top of the course.
On Sunday’s giant slalom race in Alta Badia, Italy River Radamus landed in a solid 15th place position.
“This is the most special track on the circuit. I always hold this one in high regard,” said Radamus. “I always try to put down a performance I can be proud of.”
River Radamus was the top Stifel U.S. Alpine Ski Team athlete in the giant slalom in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia, finishing 17th.
Tommy Ford and George Steffey also scored points, finishing 21st and 26th, respectively. It was Steffey's second career World Cup points score, after snagging points in the Stifel Palisades Tahoe Cup at the end of February.
Brian McLaughlin did not qualify for a second run.
