COPPER, CO (Dec. 1, 2015) – U.S. Ski Team veteran Tommy Ford (Bend, OR) was victorious in the opening NorAm giant slalom race of the season at Copper Mountain, CO on Monday. A race in which several anticipated starters in the upcoming Beaver Creek World Cup took part, Ford leapt from 14th position after the morning’s run, 1.19 seconds behind Germany's Fritz Dopfer’s leading time, to best the field by 0.33 seconds en route to his sixth NorAm victory and his first since 2011.

Team USA grabbed its second medal of the FIS Junior World Ski Championships in as many days on Friday in the Team Event, taking home silver, at Val di Fassa, Italy under the lights. The team was led by 2019 super-G World Junior Champion River Radamus (Edwards, Colo.), along with Ben Ritchie (Waitsfield, Vt.), AJ Hurt (Squaw Valley, Calif.) and Katie Hensien (Redmond, Wash.).

On the second day of the Stifel Palisades Tahoe Cup, Stifel U.S. Ski Team athlete Jett Seymour stole the show with a 15th place and secured the Stifel Bibbo Award moving from bib 39 to 15th place. 

“I felt good about my second run. I had a few mistakes but that’s ski racing and I’m happy with the day,” said Seymour.

It was an exciting Sunday to end the Stifel America’s Downhill in Aspen. The Stifel U.S. Alpine Ski Team men put on a show with two U.S. men coming in hot from the back, tying for 14th place. Jared Goldberg bumped up to 14th from bib 45 and his teammate Erik Arvidsson bumped up to 14th from bib 52. Ryan Cochran-Siegle landed in 18th position.

Even after spending all day in the gym, the Europa Cup boys on the U.S. Alpine Ski Team returned to the USSA Center of Excellence on a Thursday night in September. It was a festive atmosphere with pizza and loud music, but the guys weren’t quite dressed for a party. Instead, they all showed up in their downhill suits.
