The top male tech skiers in the world will return to the 1960 Olympic Winter Games venue at Palisades Tahoe in Olympic Valley, California Feb. 25-26 for the Stifel Palisades Tahoe Cup—one of four domestic Audi FIS Alpine Ski World Cups in the United States for the 2022-23 season, the most in history. Hosting two events, the slalom and giant slalom, Palisades Tahoe will welcome back athletes, spectators, friends and family for the second time since 2017.

RE, Sweden (Mar. 9, 2017) – For the second day in a row, Sam Morse (Sugarloaf, ME; U.S. Ski Team C Team/Carrabassett Valley Academy) led the charge for the U.S., finishing just .08 seconds off the top of the podium at the 2017 FIS Junior World Ski Championships Thursday. On the women’s side, Maureen Lebel (Truckee, CA; Mammoth Mountain Ski & Snowboard Club) was the top U.S. finisher in ninth.

Tommy Ford continued his stellar streak of giant slalom results, finishing fifth in the Alta Badia GS and leading four U.S. men into the points.

Just on the other side of the valley from the weekend’s speed events in Val Gardena, Italy, Alta Badia’s conditions were perfect. The snow on the Gran Risa was ideal—not too grippy or slick—which resulted in high speeds and a close race. Alexis Pinturault of France won the race with young Atle Lie McGrath of Norway in second and Justin Murisier of Switzerland third.

The first leg of this weekend's series in Zauchensee, Austria, wrapped on Friday, Jan. 12, with two Stifel U.S. Ski Team women punching into the top 30 in the super-G, led by Jaqueline Wiles in 21st.

Wiles skied into the top 25 from bib 47, punching in her best World Cup super-G result since 2018. Three of the past four super-G races Wiles has started in this discipline have resulted in a DNF, so today was a huge confidence boost for her heading into the downhill on Saturday and a second super-G on Sunday.
