On Wednesday’s men’s giant slalom race at the Stifel Sun Valley Finals River Radamus closed out his World Cup season in 15th place and 12th in the overall giant slalom standings.
“I’m proud of the fight today and my approach,” said Radamus. “It’s always special to close it out in the U.S. this crowd has been amazing.”
On Saturday’s men’s giant slalom in Val d’Isére, Stifel U.S. Ski Team athlete River Radamus secured a 10th place result in the first men’s giant slalom of the season.
It was a difficult giant slalom race across the board with over 20 racers not finishing the first run. The course's first run set was turny and difficult to keep a rhythm. Many of the world’s best had trouble making it down the course clean.
In Wednesday’s individual parallel event at the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships, Stifel U.S. Alpine Ski Team athletes River Radamus and Nina O’Brien raced straight after a gold medal team event performance and qualifier the day prior.
After a run on both the red and blue courses, O’Brien and Radamus did not make it on to the next round, however their spirits remained high.
On Tuesday night’s giant slalom race in Schladming, Austria, Stifel U.S. Ski Team athlete River Radamus landed in 12th place. Radamus powered through a difficult weather day that involved pouring rain, slushy snow and an inconsistent surface.
The Stifel U.S. Ski Team alpine men had a strong day in the Garmisch super-G with two in the top 10 and five in the top 30. River Radamus scored his best super-G result with an eighth place and his teammate Ryan Cochran-Siegle continued his streak of top 10 results in 10th position.
In front of family, friends, teammates and thunderingly loud fans on home soil, Stifel U.S. Ski Team athlete River Radamus took his first career podium in the Stifel Palisades Tahoe Cup giant slalom at Palisades Tahoe, California. He finished third.
"It's been a long time coming," said Radamus. "I've wanted to feel what this moment feels like for so long and I've just been working and working."
On the second day of giant slalom in Alta Badia, Italy, Stifel U.S. Ski Team athlete River Radamus skied away with a top 15 result in 14th place.
It was another gorgeous day in Alta Badia with a strong snow surface for the competitors. Similar to the day before, the course set was rhythmical throughout the steep sections of the course with a more direct set towards the bottom as the pitch rolls onto the flats.

The 2016 U.S. Youth Olympic Team will be formally named by the United States Olympic Committee in late January.
