It was a tough day two of giant slalom in Adelboden, Switzerland for the Americans, headlined by a massive crash from Land Rover U.S. Alpine Ski Team giant slalom star Tommy Ford. Ryan Cochran-Siegle led the way for the men in 19th place with River Radamus in 20th.
Stifel U.S. Ski Team athlete Ryan Cochran-Siegle snagged 10th place in the season opener super-G in front of a domestic crowd at the Stifel Copper Cup presented by United Airlines. River Radamus also landed in the top 30 in 22nd and Kyle Negomir was 24th.
PARK CITY, Utah (March 17, 2025) – The Stifel U.S. Ski Team is proud to announce the 14 athletes qualified for the Stifel Sun Valley Finals, an Audi FIS Alpine World Cup March 22-27, 2025. The group of athletes have all qualified within the top 25 rank of their respective disciplines following the conclusion of the regular FIS Alpine World Cup season.
On Saturday, February 3 in Portes du Soleil, France, Ryder Sarchett won the FIS Alpine Junior Worlds alpine men’s giant slalom race. The Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation and University of Colorado Boulder ski team athlete beat out the competitive field by a mere 0.06 hundredths of second to take the win.
On Sunday, the Stifel U.S. Alpine Ski Team men’s speed team took on the Audi FIS Alpine Ski World Cup Cortina super-G track for the second day. The race was riveting and extremely difficult. There was a total of 21 did not finish racers. An unheard-of number for a speed event. This was due to a lot of trick turns on the terrain packed course.
The 2023 Toyota U.S. Alpine Championships presented by Stifel kicks off in just under a week. Top alpine athletes across the United States and beyond will compete on the slopes of Sun Valley, Idaho for coveted national championship titles.
Mikaela Shiffrin continued her successful speed series with her 77th World Cup victory Sunday at the Audi FIS Alpine Ski World Cup super-G in St. Moritz, Switzerland. Shiffrin now has 124 World Cup podiums to her name.
Shiffrin described her skiing as good, commenting that she pushed hard in the race. “I felt very good, from inspection I was looking at a very tough line and I tried my best to follow that line,” said Shiffrin. “You have to push so hard and its always on the limit. I knew where my tactics should be and I’m happy with that.”
