AWARDS RESPONSIBILITIES OF SPORT COMMITTEES
Review all award criteria for errors or omissions.
Program managers review all automatic ‘event’ awards within the sport before spring sport committee meetings; submit names to be entered into the awards manual for the permanent record.
Review and update any other sport-specific awards.
There will be public nominations on discretionary awards within the sport
Sport committees make nominations on all organizational discretionary awards (Gold and Silver and having reviewed the public input)
In the case of new awards sport committees wish to enact, a proposal on the new award should be submitted for the U. S. Ski & Snowboard Awards Working Group for approval prior to any selection of candidates for that award.

DISCRETIONARY AWARDS SELECTION PROCESS
All U.S. Ski & Snowboard awards are based on achievement and merit; there is no obligation to present awards each year or for a sport committee to submit a nomination.
Nominations from any individual, group or organization may be submitted through the U.S. Ski & Snowboard sport committees.
U.S. Ski & Snowboard sport committees review nominations and make a formal nomination by April 11.
Public nominations will be collated and provided to the members of the Awards Working Group; the sport committees will then make their selections for the discretionary awards.
U.S. Ski & Snowboard sport committees will submit their sport specific nominations, if applicable, by April 11.
A list of the award recipients will be submitted to the U.S. Ski & Snowboard CEO/ President and Chairman on April 29.
